Model Context Protocol (MCP)

An open protocol that defines a universal interface for connecting AI assistants and agents to external data sources, tools, and services. MCP operates on a client-server model where the client is the AI agent and the server is the tool or data source being connected. The protocol supports two transport mechanisms: stdio (for local development) and Streamable HTTP (for remote deployments).
