DPDP Act

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, is India's comprehensive framework for personal data processing. For AI agents, the Act's most significant provision is the classification of voice data as biometric data, which triggers heightened consent and security obligations. The Act requires explicit consent for data processing, data fiduciaries to maintain transparency, and breach notification to the Data Protection Board.
